Donor Spotlight: Paula Peterson

Idaho Youth Ranch is proud to have some of the most incredible supporters around. Paula Peterson of Idaho Falls is particularly amazing. Paula is part of our Partners in Promise monthly giving program. She is also a volunteer at one of our thrift stores.

Once I saw what [Idaho Youth Ranch] had at the store, I was inspired by the way it was run, it was just so clean, and the employees were always eager to answer my questions, Paula said. I was only there a couple of times before I started volunteering and I just had a really good feeling about it.

Paula is one of the most compassionate people youll ever come across. Her warmth and empathy for Idaho Youth Ranch are easily apparent. Maybe thats because she knew what it was like to be a kid who needed a helping hand.

When I was 12 years old, my parents divorced, and I was the oldest daughter of eight children. I had an older brother, so the two of us raised those little kids. And we knew what poor was, Paula said. In fact, we were so poor that we would go with buckets across to the church to get water to fill the toilet because there was no power.

Paula doesnt just support the mission of  Idaho Youth Ranch to help at-risk youth. She has lived it. When she was just a kid herself, she took it upon herself to find a promising future for herself, and selflessly, for her younger siblings.

Thank you Paula and to all of YOU who support the mission of  Idaho Youth Ranch with your time and your gifts. We couldnt do it without you!
