Last winter, the Anchor House in Coeur dAlene was able to make several much-needed facility improvements thanks to the generosity of the Womens Gift Alliance (WGA). The WGA awarded Anchor House a $25,250 grant for renovations that included installation of a new sprinkler system for the lawn and indoor improvements to living areas, such as new paint and furniture. The goal was to make the residential treatment facility feel more homey and welcoming for the boys to help them heal from and triumph over their struggles with substance abuse.

To thank the WGA and share the results of all the hard work, Anchor House hosted a WGA Appreciation Day in April. Northern Idaho Development Director for the Idaho Youth Ranch Amy Evans said, You can really feel the difference, inside and out. The campus has never looked better.

Greg Orlando, Anchor House Program Director, reports that, We are reaping the beautiful benefits of the Women's Gift Alliance award from last year which got us our sprinkler system.  Our grass is looking extremely green, for the first time ever! And, another big deal is the staff (myself included) doesnt have to interrupt treatment to go out every hour and move hoses to keep it that way.
